Mildred Muchow
Funeral services for Mildred M. Muchow were held Wednesday, Dec. 7, 11 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
Mildred Marguerite Muchow, daughter of John and Marguerite Wells Thompson, was born Nov. 4, 1913 in Clermont, Iowa. She died Monday morning, Dec. 5, 1988 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.
She attended the Clermont Schools. On July 3, 1934 she married Hall Muchow at Caledonia, MN. The couple had 5 children. They spent the first few years in Clermont before moving to Postville where they made their home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died March 28, 1966 and a sister, Anna Fitz.
She is survived by one son, Eldon, Postville; 4 daughters, Darlene and her husband, Stanley Iverson, Waterloo, Gloria and her husband, Burnell Sander and Linda Bugenhagen, all of Postville and Janet and her husband Roger Franzen, Ft. Atkinson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Duane Thompson, Postville, Fred Thompson, Waterloo and Richard Thompson, Sacramento, CA; and 2 sisters, Esther Dreier, Postville and Bessie Odekirk, Waterloo.
Casket bearers were Craig Bugenhagen, Kevin Bugenhagen, Greg Schnuelle, Hank Snyder, Greg Iverson and Kurt Olson.
