RUTH DOUGLASS 1882-1971

Word has been received here of the death of Ruth Douglass at her home in Santa Monica, Cal., Tuesday, September 21, 1971.

Born in Postville in 1882, Miss Douglass finished her bachelor work in Wisconsin University, received her Master's Degree from Southern Methodist University and was admitted to the Texas Bar after receiving the LL.B Degree from Jefferson University. In addition, Miss Douglass had credit for additional graduate work in the University of Chicago, University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin, Columbia University and Southern Methodist University. Her career spanned many years in the field of education including 20 years as Director of the Department of Business Administration in the Texas State College for Women. Miss Douglass is survived by her brother Harvey of Postville, five nieces and one nephew.

A committal service will be held at a later date at National, Iowa.

-note: parent's were May Hamilton Douglass and Reuben Noble Douglass. Ruth's brothers were Ray and Harvey Douglass.
