At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Seth Stafford, March 28th, 1905, Mrs. MARTHA A. (HANCOCK) ENTWISLE, aged 67 years, 6 months and 8 days.

Martha A. Hancock was born in Elkhart County, Indiana, Sept. 15th, 1837. In October, 1851, with her parents, she came to Allamakee County, Iowa. February (?), 1858, she was united in marriage to Wm. Entwisle. By this union twelve children were born one died in infancy. Mrs. Clara B. Stafford, Thomas Entwisle, Charles Entwisle, Mrs. Mattie Thornton and Miss Cora Entwisle, residing at Volney; Albert Entwisle and Mrs. Sarah Mason of Waukon; Nathan Entwisle of Rossville, Mrs. Mary Stafford, of Marion, Anace Pierce and Mrs. Lydia Ridgeway, of Waucoma, Iowa, all of whom survive and mourn for the aged mother who has been called to her heavenly rest. Mr. William Entwisle died in August 1893.

The deceased united with the church at the age of 15 years, and for a number of years past has been connected with the Volney church.

Mrs. Entwisle was a sister of Morris N. Hancock, of this city and Thomas Hancock, of Rossville. Three brothers reside in Minnesota and a sister in Wisconsin.

The funeral was held at Volney on Thursday last; Rev. Williams officiating. There was a large attendance of neighbors and friends of the family to honor the memory of a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and earnst friend.
