WAUKON BANKER ENDS OWN LIFE

Waukon, Iowa, June 28 - The People's National Bank was closed Tuesday. An examiner is now in charge.

Waukon, Ia., June 28 - Special: The body of John Bieber, 42, vice-president of the People's National bank who had been missing since Saturday was found Monday evening at 8:30 o'clock in a dense patch of timber about two and one half miles east of town. A 38 calibre revolver was found at his side and he shot himself through the heart. The body was found by Otto Knuppe who with a number of other men had gone to the timber to pick berries. Mr. Bieber had left his car stand alongside of the road in the timber, and it is reported that a few people had noticed the machine but their suspicions were not aroused.

The coroner and sheriff were called and the body taken to Waukon, but no inquest will be held as it is considered a plain case of suicide. Mr. Bieber left no word of his intentions and there is no known motive for the act. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, one brother and several sisters. The funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon.
