Five deaths result in one Family from Diphtheria in Clothing.
La Crosse, Wis., Feb. 6.—News has reached here of the death of a whole family of five, named Buckendahl, residing near New Albin, of diphtheria. The oldest boy had worked several years in Aberdeen, S. D., and a few weeks ago was taken ill with diphtheria. Before his death he requested that his effects be sent home to New Albin, which was done. A suit of clothes worn by him were worn by his brother. Several days later the brother was taken sick, as were four others in the family, all of whom died.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the following children buried in Wheatland Cemetery:
