Isaac Huffman Services Held
Funeral services for Isaac Huffman of Rossville were held in the Rossville Presbyterian church last Friday with Rev. H.W. Farnham officiating. Burial was in the Waukon cemetery.
Mr. Huffman died Wednesday, March 12, following an illness of more than three years.
He was born Dec. 27, 1861, in Illinois, a son of Henry and Gemina (Walters) Huffman. At an early age he moved with his parents to Allamakee county. In 1887 he married Bridget Ann Reddy, their home being made on a farm. For 25 years he owned and operated the general store at Volney, retiring in October, 1928.
He was a member of the Volney Methodist church and of the Modern Woodman lodge of Rossville.
Surviving are five children, Richard at home, George of Chicago, Earl and Eula Canoe, both of Rossville; and Mrs. Lula Harrop, of Mason City; three brothers, John, Edward, and Levi, all of Rossville.
His wife and a brother preceded him in death.
Hymns were sung at the services by Mrs. Elsie Wiethorn and Mrs. Harley W. Farnham, with Mrs. Geneva Rash, accompanying. Pallbearers were: Albert Gilson, John Melcher, Pete Hefner, John Thias, Ora Mitchell, Frank Klees, Chris Eckart and Dell Rose.
