Services for Imogene Montour

Funeral services for Imogene Montour were held Monday, May 26, 1997, 11:00 a.m. at the Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona, Iowa. Dr. Gary Dobbins officiated. Organist was Ric Benzing. Special music was provided by Keith and Dixie Kutzbach. Honary pallbearers were Donald Schofield, Bob Jacobson, Irvin Huinker, Donnie Rissman, John Kolowinski(?), Sam Samboe and Marilyn "Doc" Henderson. Pallbearers were Mike Mead, Alan Serbouse, Daniel Straate, Russell Straate, Craig Everman, Troy Everman and Greg Montour. Burial was in the Monona Cemetery Association. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.

Imogene Montour, daughter of Lee R. and Gladys M. (Leas) Huffman, was born January 2, 1920 at Rossville, IA. She received her education at the Rossville School.

Imogene was united in marriage to Harvey Louis Montour on Aug. 22, 1939 at EUB parsonage in Monona. She had been employed at Winona Wire. She enjoyed fishing and quilting.

Imogene died Thursday, May 22, 1997 at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey; two sons, Dean Montour and his wife, Marlene, of Central City, IA, and Steven Montour and his wife, Cyndi, of Inver Grove Height, MN; six grandchildren, Michelle and Kellie Montour, Cody Schmitz, Nicholas, Derek and Adam Montour; one brother, Francis Huffman of Marion, IA; four sisters, Neva Mead of Center Junction, IA, June Serbousek of Center Junction, IA, Betty Everman of Postville, IA, and Shirley Straate of Waukon, IA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
