Funeral services for Henry H. Larson, 84, who died in La Crosse hospital following an operation, were held Tuesday at the West Paint Creek church, conducted by the Rev. A.P. Lea. Born in Norway Oct., 28, 1852, he came to this country nearly seventy years ago. When a young man he clerked in a general store at Lansing, and after his marriage to Clara Marie Smaby conducted a store at Maud, a station on the Waukon branch railroad, and also served as postmaster there until rural routes were established to cover that territory. Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Elmer, residing east of Waukon, and a daughter, Mrs. Ida Hanson.
Note: A gravestone search documents Henry's first marriage was to Julia Knudtson; his second marriage was to Clara Marie Smaby.
