William Philip Muth, 73, who was born near Monona, March 27, 1870, died at Des Moines, Sunday, June 20. He was the son of John and Mary Muth.

He was married to Pauline Peterson, July 8, 1898, at Waukon. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Muth lived in Allamakee county, first in Ludlow where Mr. Muth was a butter maker and later in Waukon.

His wife died at St. Joseph, Mo., in 1936, and for the last five years Mr. Muth has lived in Des Moines.

Surviving are his son, Merlin, of Los Angeles, Calif., and a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Maynard of Chicago, Ill., and a brother, John, of Carona, S.D.
