Mrs. Collins Funeral Held

Funeral services for Mrs. W.K. Collins, Mary86, of Waukon were held last Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Patrick's church in that city with Rev. Edgar Kolfenbach officiating at the requiem mass.

Burial was at St. Mary's Lycurgus cemetery with Rev. Raymond Duffy officiating at the graveside services.

Mrs. Collins died Monday, Jan. 24, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur O'Brien of Waukon. She had been ill for the last two weeks.

As Mary, she was born the daughter of Christopher and Catherine Dougherty Plein in Allamakee county, May 1, 1868.

She was married Sept. 28, 1897, at St. Mary's church, Lycurgus, to William K. Collins. They lived on a farm in the Lycurgus vicinity for many years. Mr. Collins' death occured there in 1933.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Edward who died in infancy, and Albert, who died in 1932.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Arthur O'Brien and Mrs. T.E. Kerdnt of Waukon, Mrs. Leslie Sherbonda of Monona, Margaret of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Arnold Rausch and Lucille of Dubuque; one son, Kenneth of Waukon; a sister, Mrs. John McGahn; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Vic Zoll, Pete Welch, Thomas Mahoney, Lou Gerky, Frank Murphey, and Patsy Welsh.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. T. McMullen, Mrs. Fred Slede, Mr.and Mrs. Ole O'Brien, Mr.and Mrs. Ray O'Brien, and Mrs. Henry Hefty of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr.and Mrs. George Bauman of Hopkins, Minn.; George Plein of Leavenworth, Kan.; Mr.and Mrs. Thomas Mahoney of Dubuque; and Frank Kenny and Mr.and Mrs. William Bonadeur of La Crosse, Wis.
