Evelyn M. Koch, 79, died Saturday, June 29, 2002 in St. Joseph Health Care Center, La Crosse, Wis. Her body will be cremated and services will be later in Lansing. Dickinson Family Funeral Home and Crematory, La Crosse, Wis., is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Roger) Strong of Cedar Rapids and Beverly (Don) White of Johnson City, Tenn.; two sons, Timothy (Rita) Koch of Cazonovia, Wis., and Christopher Koch of Lansing; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Eileen Masterson of Canyon City, Colo.; and a brother, Frank Murray of Grants, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on April 26, 1990; her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

She was born April 3, 1923, in Leadville, Colo., to John and Bessie (Rich) Murray. She met Robert O. Koch in Seattle, Wash., while she worked for Boeing, building B29s. They were married in Reno, Nev., on Aug. 2, 1942. They moved back to Lansing, Iowa, after World War II. They owned Bob and Ev's Cafe until 1965. Evelyn was a homemaker until 1979, when they went back into business until retirement in 1986.
