Mrs. Susan Ivy Bowen, born in Cornwall, England, October 26, 1840, passed away Saturday evening, December 1st at 10:30. She moved to Canada with her parents when a small child and came to the States some years later.

Miss Ivy was married to William Johnson to whom were born five children: Mrs. Mary Huffman of Nashua; Mrs. Violet Gallagher, Mrs. Letha Bennett and Mrs. Kizzie Schmidt of Waukon Junction.

In 1876 Mrs. Susan Johnson was married to Patrick Bowen. Three boys were born to this union, Frank B., of Milwaukee; John Delbert of Waukon Junction; and Joseph of Camp Douglas.

Patrick Bowen preceded his wife in death three years ago. Funeral services were held from the home December 4, at 1 o'clock. Burial at Spalding cemetery.
