Mrs. WILLIAM (Marie Louisa Schroeder) FISCHER 1867-1923

Thursday, April 5, 1923 -- Mrs. Wm. Fischer of Castalia passed away Tuesday morning following a long illness.

-note: Marie Louisa Schroeder Fischer died April 3, 1923 and is buried in the Postville Cemetery. She was born Dec 1, 1867, in Germany, daughter of John Ludwig and Wilhelmina (Wernhardt) Schroeder. She was married to William Henry Fischer June 15, 1888 in Allamakee County, Iowa. She and William had 13 children: 5 sons, William, Fred, Emil, Henry and Martin; four daughters, Mrs. William (Lena) Schave, Mrs. George (Emma) Lundt, Mrs. Frank (Louise) Schweinefus and Esther. Their son Edwin, born in 1894, died in 1913; infant girl, born 1911, died 1912 and Otto, who was stillborn. Also a baby boy born Nov. 24, 1891, according to the Birth Registery 2, Page 251, West Union, Iowa Courthouse. Louise, Mrs. Frank Schweinefus, also married Harley Fuller after divorcing Frank Schweinefus. Esther married Delbert Updegraff and was later divorced.
