Passed Suddenly Away.
The following obituary (copied from the Crystal Lake, Hancock county, Reflector) relates to the brother of Mrs. L. F. Nelson of this city—one who for many years resided here and in this vicinity.

At 5 o’clock Friday morning, July 6, at his home in Crystal Luke, occured the death of David Magner, one of Crystal Lake's best and most influential citizens. Death was due to internal hemorrage, and came as a relief from pain caused by appendicitis and peritonitis. He had been sick just a few hours. All that loving hearts and kind hands could do, together with medical aid, were of no avail, and leaving many sorrowing friends behind, he passed to his home above.

The deceased was born in Allamakee county, April 15, 1858, at which place he lived till twenty-four years of ago, when he moved to Decorah where he remained for twelve years, from there he moved to Crystal Lake, at which place he died.

In 1887 he was married to Miss Mary Morris of Lawler, Iowa, whoso death occured two years later, One child, Willie H. now eleven years old, who resided with his grandfather in Allamakee county, blessed this union.

In 1892 he was united in marriage to Nellie K. Maley of Cresco, Iowa, who with four children survive him, viz Frankie J. aged seven, Genevieve A. aged six, Rosella, aged four, and Eva, aged two.

Mr. Magner was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church and died fortified by all its rites. He was a good citizen, popular with and respected by all. His popularity with his townsmen led them to choose him as mayor at the election lost spring and which position be held up till the time of his death and filled to the regret of none. lie was an Indulgent father, and left his family In very comfortable circumstance a fine home, $1000 life insurance, half interest in a general store, and a 100 acre farm north of town. Mr. Magner was one of those people who are friends to everybody and enemies to none,

The funeral procession started from the house in charge of the Crystal Lake Camp M. W. A. of which he was a member, at 7 o'clock Saturday morning and arrived at Britt at 9:30 where the body was placed upon the train and accompanied by Mrs. Magner, and son Michael, M. F. Magner, M. J. Barrett, Frank Lawler, and Joseph Morris was taken to Allamakee county to be interred near the place of his childhood.— Crystal Lake Reflector.
