Man Killed Near New Albin.
On Saturday, the 4th inst., Henry Shrunk, a New Albin laborer, was killed by a train. The Waukon Democrat says
Shrunk had been seen about town the previous evening; but there was no witnesses of his death. He is thought to have wandered down the track and becoming wearied had laid down at the side of the track with his head on the rail. Some alcohol was found in a bottle on his person and it is presumed that his act was done in a drunken stupor. He was found at the side of the track by the section men with his head all crushed in where the pilot of an engine had struck him. The train which killed him is thought to have been the northbound night passenger. It did not run over him, and from the nature of his injury death was instantaneous.
