Marjorie Jean Steiber, 91, of Lansing, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Thornton Manor, Lansing, Iowa.

Marjorie Jean was born March 11, 1928 to Robert and Freda (Graves) Maust in Elkton, South Dakota.

She graduated from Lansing High School and attended one year of Normal Training for teaching. Jean taught country school for one year.

Jean was united in marriage with Frederick Steiber on June 7, 1947 in Lansing, Iowa. She was a giving, caring mother, who actively worked beside her husband on the family farm.

She was an outstanding cook, an avid gardener, and so loved her flowers. Jean enjoyed the outdoors and nature activities with family and friends like fishing, birdwatching, picking wildflowers and walking in the woods.

Jean is survived by her four children, Alan (Terisa) Steiber of Lansing, Iowa, Byron (Kathleen) Steiber of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Cheryl (Gary) Blythe of Dallas City, Illinois and Daryl (Pam) Steiber of Lansing; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law,
Helen Maust of New Albin, Iowa and one brother-in-law, David Kerkow of Columbia, Hts., MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; parents, Robert and Freda Maust; son, Eric Steiber ; brother, Robert "Bud" Maust Jr.; and sister, Donna Kerkow. Interment at Oak Hill cemetery; Lansing, Iowa.
