Helen May Maust was born on November 18, 1927 in Northboro, Iowa to Charles and Eva (VanFosson) Gillespie. Helen passed into the eternal care of our Lord on October 25, 2019 at Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa where she lived for the past few months.

Helen attended elementary and high school in Northboro, graduating in the class of 1945. Helen was united in marriage to Robert(Bud) Maust on January 14, 1950 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. God blessed them with 65 years of marriage.

Helen worked as a secretary at several places in Omaha, Nebraska, was an apartment manager and worked at the Button Factory in Lansing. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and raising her children.

Helen and Bud were very active members of St. Peter's Christian Community Church in New Albin where she was also active in the Women's Ministry. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxilliary since 1963 and served as secretary for several years.

Helen is survived by her four children: Danny Maust of Stoddard, Wisconsin, Scott(MaryAnn) Maust of Monmouth, Illinois, Cindy (Dennis) Smith of Monona, Iowa, Kent Maust of New Albin, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, a grandson, Jason Maust, a great-grandson Justin Cahoon and daughter-in-law, Patty Maust.
