Services Held for Charles Hoth

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 23, 1979 at 2:00 p.m. for Charles Frederick Hoth, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. David R. Nelson officiated in the service with interment in the Postville Cemetery.

He was born June 14, 1928 at Lamoni, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Ella (Meier) Hoth. He died at age 51 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville on December 20, 1979.

Charles Hoth was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. He graduated from Postville Community School in 1946 and attended Luther College.

May 25, 1957, he married Betty Kramer at Postville. They were the parents of two children, Frederick and Jacque.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and was presently serving as the American Legion's State Vice Commander.

His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are: his wife, Betty; a son, Frederick; a daughter, Jacque; and a brother, John Hoth of Salix, Iowa.

The Arthur F. Brandt American Legion Post #518 conducted military rites at the gravesite.
