Mrs. C. M. Beaman, wife of the well known Waukon merchant, died on the 29th ult., after an illness of several weeks and much suffering, from enlargement of the heart. She was aged forty-seven years, and leaves one son

Julia Beeman is buried in Oakland Main cemetery Waukon. Dates given in the 'Woodmansee' cemetery book are 1847 Oct 01 - 1902 Apr 30. This birthdate is NOT correct. Buried in Lot 349, as is Carlsile M. Beeman.

The announcement of the death of Mrs. C.M. Beeman at the farm home in Jefferson twp. last week Wednesday brought sorrow to this community in which she was so estimably known and esteemed. Her illness had been of several weeks duration and was due to heart trouble. The best medical skill was summoned to save her life but without avail, and the warning shadows of death had been apparent for a number of days preceding her death. Deceased's name was Julia E. Phelan and she was born at Fairhaven, Vermont, Oct. 1, 1851, being in her 52d(?) year at the time of her death. The funeral services were held at the family residence, conducted by Rev. Vannice.
