George Wiemerslage, one of the pioneers of Union City township, passed away Thursday, July 27th, aged 85 years. Mr. W. was born in Germany coming to this country when a young man, and by industry and frugality had gained a compentency[sic], part of which was a well tilled and fertile farm. His wife died six years ago since which he has remained on the home farm, with his son George and wife. Three sons and four daughters mourn his passing. All were present at the last obsequies, we believe, except a daughter who lives at a distance. Brief services were held at the house Sunday, after which the remains were taken to the Evangelical church at Eitzen, Rev. Klein preaching the funeral sermon.
