Death of James Russell
James Russell was born at Genesee, Waukesha county, Wis., July 12, 1851 and died at Owatonna, Minn., March 15th 1922, aged 70 years, 8 months and 3 days.
With the exception of about 12 years he has been a resident of Allamakee county, Iowa since 1877.
Mr. Russell was united in marriage with Mary A. French, July 3, 1878.
There are six children, George L. of Lansing, Frank A. and Lester L. of Forest Mills, Mabel E. of Dubuque, Mrs. C. E. Diamond of Aurora, Ills., and Alvin F. at home. There are also 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves one sister, Elizabeth Proctor of of Mukwonga, Wis., and two brothers, William of Genesee, Wisconsin, and Joseph of Concordia, Kansas.
A large number of relatives and friends gathered at the home of his son Frank on Saturday, March 18th, where funeral services were conducted by Rev. Van Nice, interment in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.
