Last Rites For Arthur Moen
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. from Glenwood Lutheran church for Arthur Moen of Decorah, who died April 24 in Rochester Methodist hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a short illness.
The Rev. Olaf Brandt was the officiating minister and buial was in the Glenwood church cemetery. Harlan Moen, Orlando Moen, Rude Duwayne [sic], Louis Wedo, Curtis Lippe and Roger Pladsen were pallbearers. Steine funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moen was born April 21, 1915 in Waukon and was a son of Julius and Caroline Hagen Moen. He lived on a farm in Allamakee county and for the past nine years in Decorah in the Freeport area. His occupation was farming and later he was employed at Luther college in Decorah.
April 5, 1941 he married Marian Ruffrige in Waukon. She survives with two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Jeanette) Bohr Jr. of Ossian, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth Ann) Haugen of Dubuque and two sons, Ronald and Ernest Moen of Decorah. A brother Carl Moen of Waukon and four sisters, Mrs. Herman (Evelyn) Lippe of Waukon, Mrs. Guy (Lillian) Brown of Hanover, Ill., Mrs. Howard (Viola) Snitker of Waukon and Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Baumgartner of Luana also survive. A son Dale and three sisters Mrs. Wallace (Ruby) Pladsen and Mrs. Helmer (Myrtle) Leyse and an infant sister precede him in death.
Mr. Moen was a member of the Glenwood Lutheran church.
