FARMER'S BODY IN STOCK TANK
Allamakee Man Drowns Self, Sheriff Says
Waukon, Ia. – Special: The body of Julius Ellingson, 28, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Ellingson, farmers of 12 miles northwest of Waukon, in Hanover township, was found in a stock tank on the farm, by his father, at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Allamakee county Sheriff L. J. Bulman and Coroner C. C. Boyden who investigated, said Ellingson took his own life by drowning, while mentally deranged, and that no inquest would be held. A physician Friday advised the parents that young Ellingson be taken to a mental institution for care.

The father said he heard young Ellingson arise from bed and leave the house, and by the time he himself dressed and followed him, his son had reached the tank and was dead.

The body is resting at the Martin Brothers funeral parlors, from where funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, to the Canoe Ridge Lutheran church, at 2 o'clock.

Ellingson was born on the home farm on Dec. 18, 1916.

Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Clifford, serving with the navy in the south Pacific, Ewald in the army overseas, and Arnold, Waukon, and five sisters, Helen, at home, Mrs. Harold Opheim, Waukon, Mrs. Elmer Digler, Mrs. Lester Digler, and Mrs. Oscar Tilleras, all of Decorah.
