SERVICES FOR WAUKON MAN
Pvt. E. Quillin, Paratrooper Killed in Belgium
Waukon, Ia. – Special: Memorial services for Pvt. Earl Quillin, who was killed in action in Belgium, on Jan. 7, were held at St. Patrick's church here Monday. The Rev. Ernest J. McDonald, pastor, celebrated the requiem mass. The Rev. Claude Norton, assistant pastor, was assistant priest, and the Rev. B. F. Reynolds, Hanover, and Capt. (the Rev.) Thomas O'Toole, Lycurgus, were present in the sanctuary.

Members of the Ralph D. Waters post of the American Legion, and other veterans of both World wars, and of the Spanish-American war, attended the services in a body. Taps were sounded by Bugler Al P. Hummel.

Quillin, a paratrooper, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Quillin, Waukon. He was born here Feb. 20, 1924, was a graduate of St. Patrick's High school, and attended Loras college, Dubuque. He went overseas in August.
