Alonzo James Phillips, the son of John Kent and Martha Taylor Phillips, was born on January 22, 1875, at Postville, Iowa, and after an illness of four weeks passed away at his home in this city on Saturday night, June 27, 1936, at the age of sixty-one years, five months and five days.
