Funeral services for Mrs. Victor Ruckdaschel were held Saturday, Nov. 24, 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius Peterson officiated. Special music was provided by Ronald Meyer, accompanied by Arlene Peterson, organist.

Welma Elizabeth Henrietta Ruckdaschel, daughter of Joseph Frederick and Dean Elizabeth (Teepe) Ihde, was born March 31, 1899 in Winneshiek County near Ossian, IA. She died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 20, 1990 in the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI.

She was baptized April 29, 1899 by Rev. Blessin and confirmed April 7, 1912 by Rev. Albert Guetzlaff in the Lutheran Church at Castalia, IA. On Oct. 4, 1922 she married Victor C. Ruckdaschel at the home of her parents.

They farmed in the Castalia and Postville areas for many years. In 1959 they moved to the present home in Postville.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville and the Women of ELCA.

Surviving are one son, Orville, Monona; 2 daughters, Betty Jean (Mrs. Donal Knuth), Story City, IA and Rose Marie (Mrs. Oliver Doerring), Monona; a stepson, Merrill Dean Ruckdaschel, Waukon; a stepdaughter, Eunice Halverson, Monona; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Emma Ihde and Frieda Linderbaum, both of Ossian.

Casket bearers: Reuben Ruckdaschel, Bruce Knuth, Dennis Knuth, Kenneth Conway, Jay Weirich, Michael Rood.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Lyle Zieman, James Schlee, Alvin Klahn, Page Wirlker, Carl Althouse, Louis Benjegerdes.
