Services Held For V. C. Ruckdaschel

Services were held Monday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. for Victor C. Ruckdaschel who died June 5 at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville.

Victor Ruckdaschel, son of Christian L. Ruckdaschel and Catherine Poesch, was born April 17, 1890 in Clayton County. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Mr. Ruckdaschel was a farmer in Clayton county, worked with his brother, Fred, in the garage and had also been a carpenter.

On June 25, 1913, he was married to Josephine Halverson. She died February 4, 1921. On October 4, 1922 he was married to Welma Ihde.

He is survived by his wife Welma, three sons, Merle of Waukon; Earl and Orville, Postville; four daughters, Mrs. Ileta Christofferson, Independence; Mrs. Louis (Eunice) Halverson, Monona; Mrs. Donald (Betty) Knuth, Madrid; Mrs. Oliver (Rose Marie) Doerring, Luana; a sister, Mrs. Ed Oldag, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and a son, Elmer.

Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
