Mrs. CARL (Barbara Kehr) SCHAFER

Funeral services for Barbara Schafer of Waukon were held Friday, February 14, 1986, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial was in the Lansing Ridge Cemetery. Martin's Funeral Home was in charge of services.

Pallbearers were Clarke Simmonda, Richard Troendle, Curtis Gramlich, Curtis Brandsmeier, Otto Schuttemeier, and John Wood. Honorary pallbearers were Silas Troendle, Leonard Stock, Harlan Schellhammer, Milton Schneider, Ralph Martin and Francis Martin.

Barbara Schafer, daughter of Henry and Louise (Wentker) Kehr, was born April 29, 1895 in Elon, Iowa. She received her education in the Allamakee County rural schools. She was united in marriage to Carl Schafer on November 19, 1911 in Lansing, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, who died in January 1961; brother and sisters: Fred, Amelia, Margaret and Clara.

Survivors include her children, Mrs. Bernice Hull of Winona, Minn., Earl of Denver, Co., and Claude of Lansing; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Louis Kehr of Waukon; and sister, Linchen Tetzlaff of Minneapolis; and nieces and nephews.
