Martha Karoline Rehberg Schave passed away Sunday, October 12, 1958, at the age of 83 years and 19 days. She was born September 23, 1875, at Garnavillo, Clayton county, to Wilhelm Rehberg and his wife, Friederica Rueter. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Garnavillo.

On January 18, 1900, she was united in marriage to Fred Schave of Ossian. To this union six children were born: Mabel, who died at one year of age; one boy in infancy; and Arthur Schave in young manhood. Surviving are Mrs. Edward (Rose) Dahms of Postville; Mrs. Alfred (Grace) Lundt of Decorah; Mrs. Silas (Marie) Kohrs of Waterloo; her husband; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be today, Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Hibbard officiating. Burial will be in Postville cemetery.
