Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Janesville, Wisconsin for Harvey W. Schave, 44, former resident of this community, who passed away Thursday, July 26, 1956, at his home in Janesville. The Rev. Herbert Mayer officiated. Burial was in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville.
Harvey William Schave, 44, Janesville, Wisconsin sand and gravel company employee, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday in his home, 1050 Jerome Ave., following a brief illness. A Janesville resident for the past 13 years, he was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
Born in Postville, Iowa, on February 11, 1912, he was the son of William and Caroline (Fischer) Schave. During World War II he was stationed at West Point with a quartermaster corps.
Mr. Schave and Charlotte Witt of Ossian, Iowa were married in Waterloo on October 4, 1935. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, (Janet) Mrs. Lawrence Klawes, Janesville, Karen and Arlene at home; two sons, David and Roger at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Schave, Castalia; two sisters, (Lauretta) Mrs. Roland Heideman, Milwaukee; (Vera) Mrs. Glen Pixler, Luana; three brothers, Clarence of Luana; Glen of Postville; and Virgil of Savanna, Illinois.
