The death of Nels Kvamme, 81, occurred Sunday afternoon at his home in this city. He had been in failing health for some months.

Son of Mr. and Mrs Ole Kvamme, he was born in Winneshiek county December 3, 1864. He spent his youth there.

On March 10, 1893, he was married to Minnie Hexom at the Glenwood Lutheran church by Rev. Borge. For nearly 30 years, they farmed in Allamakee county, retiring in 1922 when Waukon became the family home.

Surviving are his widow, two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Vane Eells, (Amanda) of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Mrs. Peter Hendrickson (Grace), Waukon; Orlando and Henry Kvamme, farmers near Decorah. There is also a brother, Henry Quamme of Decorah, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The body reposes at the late home until Wednesday afternoon when services will be held at St John’s Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. P.F. Kjorlaug. Burial will follow in Oakland cemetery.
