Funeral services for Mrs. Ida M. Oster, 88, who died last Tuesday at her farm home in Center township, were held Saturday at the Adventist Village Creek church. The Rev. W.S. Sanders of Des Moines, assisted by the Rev. A. Russell Hagen of Waterloo, were in charge of the services.
Mrs. Oster was born in Orebro, Sweden, November 8, 1857, and came to Lynxville, Wis., in the spring of 1880, where she stayed with her uncle, Andrew Peterson, until she came to Center township.

She was united in marriage to Carl E. Oster December 21, 1881, and to this union were born eight children all of whom survive her, except one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Aggie) Morgan who died in 1937. The surviving children are Elsie, Leonard, Verona, Edith and Arnold of the home; Mrs. Elvira Kjorlien of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Vernon (Signe) Martin of Gentry, Ark. There are also 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. One brother, Frank Erickson, also survive her besides nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Oster united with the Seventh Day Adventist church at Village Creek more than 50 years ago.

Relatives from a distance who attended were Mrs. Elvira Kjorlien, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Kjorlien and two children, and Mrs. Everett Kapital, all of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Vernon Martin, Gentry, Ark., and Mr. and Mrs. John A. Peterson of Lynxville.

Pallbearers were Fred Ericson, Edgar Ericson, Joe Johnson, Oscar Johnson, Nap Olander and Robert Anderson.
