A Woman Burned to Death. - We learned by private sources during the latter part of last week that Mrs. Worth, residing near Makee, Allamakee County, was burned to death, on Thursday, week before last. The particulars have since come to us in the Allamakee papers. Her clothes caught fire from her dress coming in contact with the stove. Neighbors were near, and endeavored to render her assistance; but it was of so little avail that (in the language of the Waukon Journal) “with the exception of her feet and ankles and a portion or her face, the fire bad come in contact with the entire surface, of which only a small portion was blistered, and the remainder burned until it was crisped to hardness, and in places charred. They immediately enveloped her in a wet sheet, and assisted by neighbors and a physician, who were called in, rendered every possible assistance for a period of twenty hours, when death relieved her of her sufferings.”
