Ludwig Hilmo passed away at the Lockin hotel Monday afternoon, December 16, after an illness of eight days during which time he suffered from influenza. He had the disease in a very malignant form and it seemed nothing could be done to relieve his suffering. Pneumonia had not developed, death resulting from influenza itself.

Mr. Hilmo was a young man of about twenty-five years of age. He came to Aurelia a year and a half ago to accept a position as assistant cashier in the Farmers National bank where he proved himself to be a very faithful and efficient employee. He was well liked by all who knew him an his jovial good nature attracted many friends and acquaintances during his residence here who are greatly grieved by his sudden death.

He leaves a father, Arne Hilmo, and a brother and sister, all living on a farm near Waukon, Iowa. His brother came last Saturday and was at the bedside when death occurred.

The remains were taken to Cherokee Monday night from which place they were shipped Tuesday night to the home at Waukon for funeral services and burial.
