LUDLOW TOWNSHIP MOTHER DIES AT THE AGE OF 88 YEARS

The Death of Mrs. Conrad Fiet, one of the pioneer residents of Ludlow Township, occurred Monday night, October 18, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Stock. She had been an invalid the past three years, due to paralytic strokes

Mrs. Fiet's maiden name was Caroline Flage. She was born March 12, 1857 near Freeport Illinois, and was past eighty years of age. About fifty-three years ago her marriage to Conrad Fiet took place at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Flage in Ludlow, and she resided in that vicinity until her death.

Eight children were born to this union, who survive to mourn the passing of a beloved mother. They are Mrs. Ed Stock, John, Ed, Albert, Paul, and Walter Fiet of Ludlow, Mrs. Geo. Winke of Union Prairie, and Mrs. Ed Ludeking, Waukon. There are also three brothers left to mourn, namely: Henry and David Flage, Waukon and John Flage of Ludlow;fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The remains were taken to her former home, now occupied by her son Walter and family where brief services were held from the home at 1:30 last Thursday afternoon, followed by services in the Bethlehem Church, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. John Klosterboer. Interment was made in the family plot in the nearby cemetery.
