We are informed that a son of Harvey Croxton was drowned at Harpers Ferry, la., last Tuesday evening, but are without particular?.?

The accidental drowning at Harpers Ferry last Tuesday was due to fooling with the ofttime death trap--rocking the boat. The young man, Croxton, and a boy names Johnny Powers were amusing themselves thus when over the craft went and Croxton sank from sight with scarcely a struggle. His companion swam to shore. The body was recovered within an hour or two. Croxton’s home was near Cresco, but when his folks were notified of the accident they did not seem even inclined to bear the expense of burial. The young man’s associates among the clammers promptly made up a fund and gave the remains a fitting interment—Waukon Democrat.
