Lansing, Ia. - Funeral services for John Hirth, 79, will be held at the late home Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Henry C. Marks officiating and burial in the Mays Prairie cemetery. Mr. Hirth died Monday night following several months illness with heart trouble.

He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hirth and was born in French Creek township Sept. 4, 1854. He was educated in the rural schools and during his active years was a well driller and expert windmill and pump repair man throughout the northern part of the county.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Joe Sandry and Miss Emma Hirth; two brothers, William and Louis. A sister Lydia preceded him in death. He was a member of the Methodist church on Mays Prairie.
