Lansing, Ia. - Funeral services for Eugene Valley were held Wednesday afternoon at the Federated church. Mr. Valley died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Deal, at Rossville following pneumonia.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Olizine Valley, he was born in Canada July 13, 1861. When he was three years old he came with his parents to Prairie du Chien, and when he was 21 he came to Harpers Ferry.
He was married to Miss Libbie Taylor at Prairie du Chien Sept. 10, 1888. Mr. and Mrs. Valley lived at Lynxville for six years before coming to Lansing.
During his residence here he was foreman of the New Jersey Button Works. Mrs. Valley died a tragic death in 1925, as a result of burns in an accident. Since then Mr. Valley has made his home with his children.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Deal, Mrs. Luella Packer of Milwaukee, Mrs. Mabel Travis of Minot, N.D., and a son Milan of Plymouth; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother Joseph Valley of Harpers Ferry.
Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
