SIMON SNITKER

Funeral services for Simon Snitker, 82, were held Friday, at Salem Reformed church in Ludlow township, conducted by Rev. E. M. DeBuhr. Burial was in the nearby cemetery.

Mr. Snitker never married and lived alone on a farm in Ludlow until old age overtook him, then spent his declining years at the home of his niece, Gertrude Snitker in Postville where his death occurred Tuesday night.

Survivors are three brothers and two sisters, W. F. Snitker and Mrs. Otto (Lydia) Knuppe, Waukon; Dan Snitker, Postville. Benjamin of Decorah and Mrs. Martha Ambrose, Forest City.

-note: Death Register 5, Page 237, gives the date of death as 28 Dec 1949 and burial as 30 Dec 1949. Simon's date of birth is 22 Sept 1867. Simon's parents were William Frederick and Anna (Flackmeier) Snitker.
