DANIEL F. SNITKER 1875-1951
The death of Daniel Snitker, 74, one of Ludlow township's lifelong and esteemed residents, occurred last Wednesday, morning at the home of his son Leonard in Ludlow. Heart trouble was the cause of death. Funeral services were held at 12:45 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Salem Reformed Church of Ludlow on Saturday, January 20, with Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in the Salem cemetery.
Entered into rest, early last Wednesday morning, January 17, 1951, Mr. Daniel F. Snitker, at the age of 75 years. Son of the late William and Anna [Flackmeier] Snitker, the deceased was born in Ludlow, March 26, 1875, where he made his home throughout almost his entire life. In December 1899, he was united in marriage with Clara Grotegut who preceded him in death in 1926. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Simon, Henry and John Snitker. The deceased was a member of Salem Church for many years, at one time serving as a Consistoryman.
He now leaves to mourn his departure: his children, Mrs. Oscar Russet, Leonard and Rev. Harold Snitker; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Knuppe and Mrs. Martha Ambrose; two brothers, William and Ben Snitker; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; besides other relatives and friends.
Note: Dan's wife Clara died December 29, 1926. She was the daughter of Simon Henrich Grotegut and Wilhelmina Goeke. They were married December 28, 1899. Dan's brother Simon, 1867-1949. Dan's brother Henry, 1872-1949. Dan's daughter, Laura married Oscar Russet.
