Alys Flack Jones

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schultz Funeral Home, Monona for Alys Flack Jones who died January 12 at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union. The Rev. Curtis Webster officiated. Burial was in Council Hill, Monona.

Alys Gertrude Clawson was born at Strawberry Point on June 23, 1898 the daughter of Charley S. Clawson and Berthene L. (Deyo) Clawson. At the age of two she moved with her family to a farm nine miles from Monona.

On April 3, 1915 she was united in marriage to LaVern Joseph Flack. To this union four children were born. Manford of Aberdeen, Washington; Marvin, Wayne and Mrs. Clarence (Jean) Larson, all of Postville.

The couple farmed in the Ion vicinity until March of 1960 when Mr. Flack died. Mrs. Flack then moved to Postville.

On March 5, 1971 she was married to Andrew Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, one brother, one sister and one grandson.

Survivors include her husband, four children, two brothers, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
