James M. Regan of Waukon died suddenly at the Decorah Hospital late Saturday afternoon where he had been taken a few hours previously for an operation. He had been about his work Friday and was stricken very suddenly.

Mr. Regan was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Regan, prominent residents of Allamakee county, and was born in French Creek township in 1879.

After his marriage to Miss Anna Welch of Lycurgus, they made their home on a farm near Lycurgus. Several years ago they moved to Waukon, where they have since resided.

Besides his widow he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Celia Roffman of Postville, Miss Mary at home; and four sons, James, Francis, Leo and Kenneth, the latter only six months old. He is also survived by seven brothers, William of Minneapolis; Charles of Great Falls, Mont.; Jerry, Maurice and Dennis of West Ridge; and Leo of St. Paul.

The funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Patrick's Church in Waukon, a requiem Mass being read by Rev. J.C. Stuart, pastor.

The remains were then interred in the Catholic cemetery at Lycurgus.
