Lansing, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Kern, 89, were held at the German Presbyterian Church Friday afternoon, with the Rev. C.H. Hoffman, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Kern died Tuesday evening at the George Troendle home, where she received care for the past several months. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. The casketbearers were Louie, Fred, Peter and Fred Kehr, Carl Schafer, and Alex Knutson.
As Margaret Kehr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kehr, she was born in New York City Feb. 23, 1848. She came to Iowa with her parents when a small child. She made her home with a sister at Minneapolis for many years. In the spring of 1908 she married the Rev. Andrew Kern and they lived at various pastorates at Inland, Neb., La Crosse, Wis., and Church. After his death in 1917, she came to Lansing, since her home.
She was a member of the German Presbyterian Church.
Surviving is a brother, Fred Kehr, of Lansing.
