Anna Marie Ewing, age 77, of Waukon, Iowa, died Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial was in the Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, Iowa.

Anna Marie was born January 18, 1935, the daughter of Lawrence and Wilhelmina (Huber) Billmeyer in LeMars, Iowa. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Cresco, Iowa in 1954. On November 20, 1954 she married William Robert Ewing in Cresco. They moved to the Waukon area where they farmed together until the death of William on April 2,1971. Anna and her children then moved to Waukon. She worked in housekeeping for Northgate Care Center and Makee Manor for several years. Anna also volunteered for the Waukon Chamber of Commerce.

She was a former member of St. Pius Catholic Church at Cherry Mound in rural Harpers Ferry, Iowa. When Anna and her family moved to Waukon she became a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she was active in the choir. Anna Marie was also active in CEW and the Ecumenical Choir. She enjoyed walking, quilting, sewing, cross stitching, refinishing furniture, making rosaries, taking care of her dogs and cats. Her favorite time was when she was with her family and friends.

Anna is survived by her children, Lawrence Ewing of Des Moines, Iowa, LouAnn (Alyn) Bucheit of Decorah, Iowa, Deborah (Dave) Dugan of Waterloo, Iowa, Daniel (Bobbie) Ewing of Cresco, Iowa, Patricia (Al Peterson) Dahlstrom of Lansing, Iowa, Judith (Don) Miller of Postville, Iowa, and Donna (Darby) Stone of Lansing, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; a brother Clarence Billmeyer and her twin brother who died in infancy.

Honorary casketbearers are Kayla Bucheit, Brenna Dugan, Ashley Ewing, Tara McGrane and Karli Miller. Casketbearers are Bryan Bucheit, James Dugan, Shawn and Joe Ewing, Bruce, Brandon, and Bryce Dahlstrom, and Dane Miller.
