Waterville- Funeral services for Mrs. Norval Asleson, 39, will be held here Sunday afternoon at the I. I. Satraang home with the Rev. J. B. Unseth, pastor of the East Paint Creek Church, officiating. Burial will be in the nearby cemetery.

Mrs. Asleson died Thursday at the Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse where she was a patient the past several weeks.

As Edna Jacobson, she was born in Allamakee County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Jacobson. She was a graduate of Waukon High School and following her marriage to Mr. Asleson, the home was made at Lexington, Ky.

Surviving are her husband; two children, Betty and Bob; her mother; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Delle of Washington, D.C., Mrs. O. M. Busness of La Crosse, and Mrs. George Sorenson of this vicinity; and three brothers, Theodore and Oscar Jacobson, both of Waterville, and Carleton of Rantoul, Ill.

(Note: An article in the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Fri., 2 Oct. 1942, says that Norval Asleson and children, Betty and Bob, went to Huron, S.D., their future home.)

Note added by Richard O'Brien 8/10/2017:

Her gravestone in East Paint Creek Synod cemetery spells the surname as Aleson.

There were obits in the Waukon Democrat and Waukon Republican Standard also spelling her surname as Aleson.

Edna's husband Norval remarried in South Dakota in 1944 and died in Texas in 1980.
