Postville- Funeral services for Robert F. Hecker, 90, Postville's oldest resident, will be held here Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and at 2:30 o'clock at the community Presbyterian Church. The Rev. L. H. Newhouse, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Postville Cemetery.

Mr. Hecker died Friday at his home following a two weeks' illness.

Born in Baden, Germany, Nov. 15, 1851, he came to New York City in 1861 with his mother, Mrs. Christian Hecker, following the death of his father. A year later they moved to Lansing where he received his education and learned the wagon and carriage making trade. From 1871 to 1875 he worked in Dubuque and Davenport and on Jan. 8, 1876 he was married to Miss Mary Hupp of Lansing. He then established a wagon and carriage making plant as well as a blacksmith and general repair shop in Postville. When automobiles became popular, he added a garage and dealership.

He is survived by two sons, Robert, his business partner, and Joseph, a farmer near here; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell Moody of Excelsior, Minn.; and one grandchild.

His wife died 16 years ago. A son also preceded him in death.
