Waukon- Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Salem Reformed Church in Ludlow township for Fred Depping, 68, well known Allamakee County farmer who died Friday at his home following a lingering illness.

The Rev. E. M. DeBuhr, pastor, officiated and burial was in the nearby cemetery.

Mr. Depping was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Depping, early pioneer settlers of that vicinity. For more than 40 years he was engaged as a thresher. He was president of the Iowa Threshers' Association. He was also assessor of Ludlow Township for more than 30 years.

Besides his widow, survivors include two sisters, Christine on the homestead with her brothers Simon and Ben, and Mrs. Martha Schutte of Postville. Two other brothers surviving are Albert of Ludlow Township and the Rev. August Depping of Bancroft.
