Karla Kruse, 16, of New Albin, the youngest page in the Iowa State Senate, died in Des Moines Wednesday morning (Mar. 31), the victim of a suicide, according to Dr. R.C. Wooters, Polk County medical examiner.

She was born July 20, 1959, in Story City, Iowa, to Mr and Mrs. David H. Kruse, and was a junior at Eastern Allamakee High School in Lansing while serving as a Senate page at the State Capitol in Des Moines.

Survivors include her parents; one sister, Brenda of Ames; and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Rockhill of Marshalltown.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, Rev. Clyde Lee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the New Albin Funeral Chapel.
