Norbert J. "Nubs" Plagge, 52, of New Albin, died Friday, Aug. 8, at his home. Death was from an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Lansing on March 5, 1923, to Frank and Elizabeth (Strub) Plagge. he married the former Evelyn Krueger on Feb. 5, 1944, in Dubuque.

He was a foreman for the Iowa Conservation Commission at the Commission's Yellow River Forest work camp near Harpers Ferry.

Survivors are his widow; one son, Jerry, of New Albin; two daughters, Mrs. Cassondra Jean Wurm of La Crosse, WI, and Lorena Rose "Renie" Plagge of New Albin; his mother; and two sisters, Mrs. Kern (Helen) Kelleher of Lansing, and Mrs. George (Lou Ann) Shipman of Buena Park, CA.

Funeral services were held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheatland. Rev. Lloyd Fried officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Fetketter, Jim Strub, Bob Waters, Bill Troendle Jr., Tim Kelleher and Don Neumann. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, was in charge of arrangements.
