Vincent "Buff" Hurley, 74, of New Albin, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 1996, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, WI.

He was born Nov. 2, 1921, in New Albin to Otto and Alice (Buckendahl) Hurley. He graduated from New Albin High School with the class of 1940.

Buff worked for 17 years for the county with his uncle. He was a lifetime Allamakee County resident, and a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his mother; one sister, Donna (Bob) Thimmesch; one niece, Wendy (Tim) Stone; two great-nephews, Brandon and Ethan Stone; two great-nieces, Chelsea and Lauren Stone; several aunts and cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 1, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, with the Rev. Tom Mattson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers were Norbert Schulte, Ray Whalen, Leonard Heiderscheit, Robert Maust, John Redwin and Walter Breeser.
